The UMKC Foundation and Law Alumni Association is an independent 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the support and advancement of the UMKC School of Law.
About the Law Foundation
Incorporated in 1959 as a nonprofit corporation, the mission of the UMKC Law Foundation is to ensure the continued success of the UMKC School of Law.
Governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees made up of law alumni and faculty, the Law Foundation seeks to advance legal education by providing enhanced resources for UMKC Law students and faculty. The Law Foundation, through the Law Alumni Board, also nurtures engagement from alumni and friends of the law school.
The Foundation Board has the fiduciary responsibility to manage the endowments of the Law Foundation which total more than $13 million. Gifts to the Law Foundation Annual Fund are dedicated to enhancing students’ experience, fostering alumni communications, supporting student organizations and underwriting faculty members’ research.
Special fundraising initiatives, annual gifts and endowments are focused on the advocacy program, law and entrepreneurship, and scholarships.
