The Professional and Career Development Center is pleased to offer UMKC Law alumni access to our online job board and job search resources. We also complete reciprocity requests for those seeking employment outside of the Kansas City area and University of Missouri system.
For graduates from other law schools, we encourage you to contact your Juris Doctor granting institution for career services assistance or refer to our guest subscription policy below.
The Career Center has moved platforms from Symplicity to CONNECT. You may have a pre-existing CONNECT account if you registered via the Student/Alumni Sign-Up button. Those with Symplicity accounts may use the email account they used to access Symplicity to reinstate their records. If you have questions about establishing your account, contact the Career Center.
Juris Doctor graduates from other NALP-member law schools who are only seeking guest access to the UMKC Law online job board may purchase a six-month guest subscription for $60. This option is not available to current law students.
To purchase a guest subscription, send a letter stating your request and include a $60 check payable to UMKC Law and mail the letter and check to:

Alumni maintain full access to the resource library on their CONNECT account. The resource library on CONNECT acts as an online handbook of tools that will address many common job search needs, including information on legal resumes, cover letters, writing samples, interviewing, accepting offers, networking and career research and exploration.
Reciprocity is an arrangement that allows law students and graduates to access job resources at law schools in other states. Each law school has its own requirements and some schools do not grant requests for reciprocity.
All reciprocity requests must be submitted through the graduate's Juris Doctor granting institution. UMKC Law Juris Doctor graduates may submit a reciprocity request to umkclawcareer@umkc.edu. Please make sure to include:
Students and graduates seeking reciprocity services at UMKC Law should refer to UMKC Law’s Reciprocity Policy for more information
Alumni play a vital role in the professional and career development of our law students. Your support truly makes a difference. We need help connecting our law students with alumni outside of the Kansas City area, outside of the traditional practice of law, providing mock interviews, authoring guest blog posts and attending our structured networking events. We'd love for you to connect and get involved!
