January 2018 Newsmakers
Congratulations to our alumni and faculty who received Missouri Lawyer’s Weekly Award Winners. The Missouri Lawyers Awards recognize lawyers who made an impact in the year just completed, including the winners of the top verdicts, influential appellate advocates and champions, law firm leaders and the Lawyer of the Year.
Michael Foster (’08) – Legal Champions Award
Michael C. Radar (’99) – Influential Lawyers Award
Emerita Dean Ellen Suni – Influential Lawyers Award
1990's
J. D. Moore (’98) has started Moore Dispute Resolution Services. His practice will continue working with construction industry clients and focus more on developing mediation and arbitration practice.
Ruth Brackney (’97) recently joined the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City.
2000's
Sarah Castle (’12) is being awarded the Kissick Construction Game Changer Award by Now Win for KC. She has created an organization called ‘Youth4KC’ where she mentors and engages young people with service opportunities that enable them to learn the value of making positive change. Their first project was to bring the National Association of Wheelchair Basketball Victory Tour to Kansas City.
Amy Brozenic (’05) was appointed to serve on the International Trademark Association’s Harmonization of Trademark Law and Practice Committee. Her term will begin on January 1, 2018 and conclude on December 31, 2018.
In Memoriam
William Ray Cowan (’96) passed away on December 4, 2018.
