Danielle M. Atchison (’14) has been chosen as this year’s KCMBA Young Lawyer of the Year. This award recognizes a lawyer under the age of 36 for significant community, civic, and professional work, while promoting the highest standards of professionalism, competence, ethical conduct, and positive public awareness of the legal profession.
Danielle is a business immigration attorney at Mdivani Corporate Immigration Law Firm who is a fierce advocate for her clients. She handles immigration-related defense in federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement worksite enforcement investigations and also works on pro bono cases for those facing struggles with immigration and domestic abuse. Danielle also shares her expertise with our law students as an Adjunct Professor of Law teaching specialty courses on corporate and pro bono immigration.
Through her many contributions to the community, she has been awarded the KCMBA Pro Bono Attorney of the Month, The Missouri Bar’s Thomas Cochran Award, The Missouri Bar’s YLS Pro Bono Service Award, Missouri Lawyers Medi Up-and-Coming Attorney Award, Missouri Lawyers Media Women in Justice Award, and The Missouri Bar’s Pro Mono Publico Award.
