Why did you choose to attend UMKC School of Law?
As a Kansas city native, I chose UMKC Law to give back to the community that has given me so much throughout my life. I like the many opportunities and how accessible they are. The faculty are always available and engaged. There’s always an opportunity to further your career by taking on a new project or making a connection with a lawyer in the KC legal community.
What has been your most rewarding experience so far?
This is my second year as a Summer Associate at Shook, Hardy & Bacon. It is, by far, the best job I’ve ever had. It has been extremely enjoyable and rewarding applying skills I’ve learned in class to my work on real cases.
What do you plan to do with your law degree?
My experience at Shook, Hardy & Bacon has confirmed the direction for my legal career path. I would love to work on complex civil product liability action at a large firm and stay in Kansas City. Also, I would like to focus my pro bono efforts on family law matters.
