KCMBA Honors Jim Bartimus

Congratulations to Jim Bartimus, UMKC School of Law alumnus, (Class of 1977). Jim is the recipient of The Lifetime Achievement Award from the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association.

Congratulations to Jim Bartimus, UMKC School of Law alumnus, (Class of 1977). Jim is the recipient of The Lifetime Achievement Award from the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. This award is presented for a lifetime of outstanding service resulting in the growth and development of the law, improvement in the administration of justice, and increased recognition of the contributions by the legal profession to the welfare of society.

Upon graduation from law school, Jim founded his law firm, which is now Bartimus Frickleton Robertson Rader.Recognized as a premier medical malpractice attorney, he represents plaintiffs nationwide in complex medical negligence and pharmaceutical cases. Among his many awards are the UMKC School of Law's 2014 Alumni Achievement Award, multiple "Best of the Bar" awards, and a Missouri Humanities Council Acorn Award.

He has served on the board of directors for the Center for Practical Bioethics, the UMKC Trustees and the Kids and Cars Organization, and he is a past president of several organizations, including the UMKC Law Foundation, International Society of Barristers, Civil Justice Foundation, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Foundation and the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys.
