Brad Desnoyer joined the faculty in 2024, after teaching for several years at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and the University of Missouri. Professor Desnoyer earned his Bachelor of Journalism, magna cum laude, and his Juris Doctorate, with honors, from the University of Missouri--where he also served as a senior editorial member of the Missouri Law Review.
After graduation, Professor Desnoyer clerked for the Supreme Court of Missouri. He then accepted a position as the Supreme Court of Missouri's Deputy Communications Counsel. Additionally, Professor Desnoyer has written short Batman-related comic books for DC Comics and assisted New York Times bestselling author Brad Meltzer.
Professor Desnoyer has received numerous awards for his teaching and service, including Indiana University’s Trustee’s Teaching Award, the Red Cane Award, the Gold Chalk Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Excellence in Education Award, and the Provost’s Outstanding Junior Faculty Teaching Award. He is a past recipient of the Association of Legal Writing Directors' Teaching Grant for his innovative pedagogy and the Legal Writing Institute's Emerging Scholar Award for his scholarship.
Professor Desnoyer is the President-Elect of the Legal Writing Institute. He has served as a writing coach for Stinson Leonard Street LLP.
