CLE Full Steam Ahead! Despite how the COVID-19 pandemic has altered our lives on a personal and professional level, UMKC School of Law’s Continuing Legal Education program has shown no signs of slowing down.

Despite how the COVID-19 pandemic has altered our lives on a personal and professional level, UMKC School of Law’s Continuing Legal Education program has shown no signs of slowing down. The execution of live, in-person seminars are the mainstays of what the CLE staff work on providing throughout the year. In response to the pandemic, the CLE department has adapted and adjusted, and has gone totally virtual the last few months while still being able to provide useful, timely educational programs via Zoom technology.

In April, the CLE team carried out several programs in the first month of remote, online learning. One of the programs, the Kansas City Estate Planning Symposium (KCEPS) was converted into a four-day web series that was attended by over 300 individuals! That momentum carried into May with the offering of 13 CLE programs, all in an effort to provide quality education to attorneys that are needing credit prior to the end of the reporting year.

In June, there already are 17 events on the CLE calendar, including the popular The Time Is Now! Offerings, which is a 15-hour review of the law, Kansas 8 +4, and Hot Topics.  For additional program information, or to view upcoming CLE events, please visit law.umkc.edu/cle or call us at 816-235-1648.
