Why did I choose to attend law school and UMKC?
I decided to attend law school because I knew I wanted to be in a career where I helped people. Lawyers can make an issue/process that is complicated for people into something that is less stressful for the person going through it. I wanted to help others and my community, which this career allows me to do. I chose UMKC because of the community feel that the school has. All of the professors are extremely accessible and willing to help and it has made my experience amazing.
What has been the biggest challenge as a law student?
My biggest challenge has been getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. I am generally quiet and reserved, so I have learned throughout my time at UMKC to push out of my shell and do things that I wouldn't otherwise do.
Interests outside of law school?
I enjoy traveling, trying new things, and spending time with my friends.
What is one piece of advice to future students?
My biggest piece of advice is to try everything law school has to offer. You never know if you will like something until you try it out. The more you push yourself, the more you will get out of law school.
