Why did you decide to attend law school? And more specifically UMKC?

It has been my dream since I was young to become an attorney. I went to undergrad at UMKC because I loved the small and caring community it offers. Part of my decision to attend undergrad at UMKC was that I knew I wanted to end up at UMKC Law. The law school has amazing faculty and staff that gave me the same feeling I felt in undergrad. Also, the close community they have with all the attorneys and judges in the metro area really appealed to me.

What has been the biggest challenge as a law student?

Adjusting to the rigorous responsibilities of law school and maintaining a life outside of law school.

What are your interests outside of law school?

I love to read, hang out with my friends, and volunteer with animal shelters!

What is one piece of advice you would give to future law students?

Law school is a big-time commitment so make sure you are understanding of that but remember that it is very attainable to have a life outside of it and still be able to keep the relationships you made before law school!
