Why did you decide to attend law school? And more specifically UMKC?
My aunt has been an attorney for over 30 years. She is one of the smartest people I know and inspired me to be the same way. Making UMKC School of Law my home was an easy choice. During undergrad, UMKC proved to me that a culture of care really exists. Furthermore, they genuinely want me to succeed. Transitioning to the law school was a no-brainer. They keep up the same support and ideals throughout all programs.
What are your interests outside of law school?
Outside of law school, I enjoy watching movies, interesting activities, and spending time with my friends or family.
What has been the biggest challenge as a law student?
The biggest challenge has been allowing myself to prioritize a healthy amount of time for myself.
What is one piece of advice you would give to future law students?
One piece of advice I would give to future law students is to have as much fun as possible. Law school can be fast moving and intense but try to find (or make) things as fun as possible. Memories of those moments will help you through the challenging times.
