Why did you decide to attend law school? And more specifically UMKC?

I have always wanted to go to law school, even back in high school. I chose UMKC because I wanted to continue my family legacy and go to the school they went to and be connected of the very close knit legal community in KC.

What has been the biggest challenge as a law student?

Learning how to take a law school exam. It is very specific and can be stressful but if and when you talk to your professors, they will give you guidance and quality feedback. And I know I will continue to improve as I keep practicing.

What are your interests outside of school?

Fitness, Gaming (Board/Card & Video), Rollerskating, trying new food.

What is one piece of advice you would give to future law students?

Giving yourself grace. Every step in the journey from the time you start studying for the LSAT, I felt like I should compare myself with everyone and that was not fair to me. Every single small accomplishment from studying for LSAT, completing the LSAT, sending out applications, getting accepted, etc deserves to be rewarded and I had to learn to give myself grace because every one does not get to the opportunity to get to those goals. Even as a law student, I am qualified and capable and I have to remind myself of that when things feel difficult.
