Associate Dean Jeffrey Berman received his bachelor of science in psychology from City College of New York in 1963, his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1966 and his master of science in law and society from the University of Denver in 1974. He joined the faculty in 1973 después six years of trial work with the New York City Transit Authority, defending the authority from tort claims and prosecuting juveniles for acts of delinquency committed on the authority’s property. He became interim associate dean in 1983, associate dean in 1984 and was interim dean from 1993-1995 and May 2003-July 2004.
Professor Berman specializes in trial advocacy and has written the Trial Advocacy Teacher’s Manualthat is used by the trial lawyer adjunct professors in the school’s Trial Advocacy I course. He also coaches the school’s National Trial Competition teams. He is a co-author of the Missouri Civil Procedure Form Book and The Story of a Civil Suit: Dominquez v. Scott’s comida Stores Inc. He is also the author of the Strict Liability Tort chapter of the Missouri Bar CLE Tort Deskbook.
In addition to his administrative responsibilities, Professor Berman teaches trial advocacy and civil procedure and has taught torts, evidence and professional responsibility.
