About

Paul Anderson is an accomplished litigator that helped pioneer the NFL and NCAA Concussion Litigation. He was previously an attorney for The Klamann Law Firm in Kansas City and was part of the team, along with attorneys from Humphrey, Farrington & McClain and the Popham Law Firm, which secured a landmark settlement for the family of Derek Sheely in a wrongful death brain injury lawsuit against the NCAA and other parties. Paul and his team spent several years litigating against the NFL, and subsequently recovered millions of dollars for their retired NFL player clients.

Beginning in 2015, Paul became an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law where he taught a course entitled, “The Emergence and Transformation of Concussion Litigation.” He also served as an adjunct professor at The University of Kansas, teaching sports law.

Beginning in 2020, Paul started co-teaching a course at UMKC Law devoted exclusively to cannabis law in Missouri. Medical marijuana is of special interest to Paul since he knows firsthand the devastating effects traumatic brain injuries have had on his clients and the public. The promising medical literature points to cannabis as being a tool to combat and treat brain injuries. With the passage of Amendment 2, Paul intends to be at the forefront of accelerating access to qualifying patients and helping the public and students understands the ins and outs of cannabis law in Missouri.
