The Professional and Career Development Center is staffed by professionals who have insight from diverse backgrounds and career paths. Lawyers operate The Career Center and provide career advising and professional development guidance to current law students and Juris Doctor alumni. The Career Center works with a variety of employers, including companies, government agencies, and law firms, who recruit UMKC students and alumni. In addition to the professional and career development services of the department, The Career Center also operates UMKC Law’s Pro Bono Public Service Program.
UMKC’s career advisors offer individualized counseling, numerous resources, and expose students to a variety of career possibilities through programs and networking. We are located on the ground floor of the Law School Building. We encourage you to explore our website and to contact a career services staff member for more information about our services.
