Flag Raising Ceremony Honors Constitution Day

In honor of Constitution Day and those who defend it, the UMKC School of Law held a flag raising ceremony at noon, Thursday, September 16th.

On Thursday, September 16th, representatives from the Military Veterans Law Student Association led the school in a flag ceremony on the Truman Terrace.  The flag that has flown this past year in honor of Ruth Bader Ginsburg was lowered, folded, and presented to Association of Women Law Students President Morgan Clapp.  The new flag was hoisted and will be flown this year in honor of all those who swear to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and especially those who serve our country in the military. Members of the MVLSA assisting in the ceremony were 3L Eric Honea (Marine Corps), 2L Sommari Muwwakki (Marine Corps), 3L John Chambers (Army), 2L Shelby Hulsey (Army), and 3L Christonya Woodbury (Navy).
