June/July 2017 Class Notes

1980s

The Honorable Zel Fischer (’88) has become the Chief Justice on the Missouri Supreme Court and his term will run through June 2019. Justice Fischer was appointed to the bench in 2008.

Andrea Spillars (’89) has been appointed Executive Director for the Missouri Board of Law Examiners.  She will be overseeing the attorney admissions process in Missouri.  Prior to her appointment, she worked in state government in various legal and administrative positions, including counsel to the Governor.

2000s

Tiffannie Kennedy (’12) has joined as an associate at Levinson and Stefani, a Chicago-based law firm. She will be focusing on litigation and trial work.

In Memoriam

1970s

Howard S. Levitan (’68) passed away on June 22, 2017. Howard practiced in Commercial Litigation and Business Litigation until he retired. He donated to many veteran causes. He was awarded the Distinguished Supporter certificate by the World War II Veterans Committee and recognized for support of Team USA on Road to Rio.

Mark G. Stingley (’77) passed away on July 9, 2017.  Mark was a partner at Bryan Cave and was the global head of the law firm’s Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Creditors’ Rights Client Service Group. He was an adjunct professor at UMKC School of Law from 2007 – 2016.
