Law Foundation selects new leadership

The Law Foundation has elected a new slate of officers, lead by incoming president Steve Cosentino. Four vice presidents will support him: JR Hobbs (Resources and Leadership), Kirk Presley (Development and Capital), Tom Hankins (Alumni and Constituent Relations) and Julia Kitsmiller (Marketing and Communications). Jim Tippin will serve as treasurer and Lajuana Counts will serve as secretary. At-large executive committee member slots will be filled by Scott Bethune and Jack Bangert.

Dean Suni recognized for Solo/Small Firm leadership

In a surprise announcement, Dean Ellen Suni was awarded the Distinguished Service Award and admitted into the Solo and Small Firm Hall of Fame at the Missouri Bar Solo and Small Firm Conference, June 9-11.

Response to Joplin disaster

More than 100 alumni compete in golf tourney

More than 100 alumni participated in the  15th Annual Downs Scholarship Golf Tournament  on Friday, May 13 at Tiffany Springs Golf Club.  The Class of 1997 first established the tournament to fund a scholarship honoring Professor Bob Downs. The tournament allows alumni of all ages to come together to support students and engage in friendly competition.

Big event a big success

The Law Foundation and Law Alumni Association’s “Big Event: Lights, Camera, Action” on February 26, was attendedby 140 alumni who enjoyed dinner, dancing and music. The old Hollywood theme featured an ice sculpture and photo booth.

Bar Registration Convocation Thursday

Representatives from the Missouri and Kansas Board of Law Examiners will provide a student convocation about bar registration  at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 17 in the Thompson Courtroom.
