Mark G. Stingley (’77) passed away on July 9, 2017. Mark was a partner at Bryan Cave and was the global head of the firm’s Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Creditors Rights Client Service Group. He was an adjunct professor at UMKC School of Law from 2007 – 2016.
Howard S. Levitan (’68) passed away on June 22, 2017. Howard practiced in Commercial Litigation and Business Litigation until he retired. He donated to many veteran causes. He was awarded the Distinguished Supporter certificate by the World War II Veterans Committee and recognized for support of Team USA on Road to Rio.
Tiffannie Kennedy (‘12) has joined as an associate at Levinson and Stefani, a Chicago based law firm. She will be focusing on litigation and trial work.
Andrea Spillars (‘89) has been appointed Executive Director for the Missouri Board of Law Examiners. She will be overseeing the attorney admissions process in Missouri. Prior to her appointment, she worked in state government in various legal and administrative positions, including counsel to the Governor.
The Honorable Zel Fischer (’88) has become the Chief Justice on the Missouri Supreme Court and his term will run through June 2019. Justice Fischer was appointed to the bench in 2008.
Martin Zehr (JD ’85) recently published his novel The Desplazados. It is available on Amazon and Kindle as an e-book.
Robert Hugh “Bob” Martin (’65) passed away April 3, 2017. He was partner in the law firm of Welch Martin and Albano, LLC. In his early career, Bob served as Municipal Judge and Assistant Jackson County Prosecutor. He served two terms in the Missouri House of Representatives (1969-1972). He served in the United States Air Force, where he earned the rank of lieutenant, trained as a pilot, and developed a life-long interest in aviation. He was a charter member of the McComas Airport Board, and, at the time of his death, was the longest serving member of the Board of Trustees of the Junior College District of Metropolitan.
