Air travel is not included and requires purchasing a multi-destination ticket. Coursework begins in Dingle, Ireland Monday morning, May 20, 2019 and concludes early afternoon on Friday, June 14 in Bangor, Wales U.K.. Plan to depart from the U.S. on Saturday, May 18 (or earlier) to arrive at the Shannon International Airport on or before Sunday, May 19 before noon to meet up with program faculty and staff for the program provided bus to Dingle. The program concludes in Bangor, Wales and requires travel to your departure airport via train, taxi or limo. If returning to the U.S. on Friday or Saturday morning after the program ends book a late flight and expect to book a very early train, taxi or limo. Arriva or Virgin Train will take you directly to Manchester Airport but will take longer than a taxi or limo. A Saturday departure from London or Dublin is possible but plan accordingly. Further information and assistance concerning travel and accommodations for early arrivals or late departures may be obtained from the UMKC Program Coordinator.
U.S. National participants are responsible for obtaining a current passport. Visas are not required. Most UMKC foreign visiting or non-UMKC foreign students interested in attending are required to have a passport and obtain Visas from both Ireland and the United Kingdom. In addition, UMKC foreign visiting students should notify UMKC International Student Affairs Office of their travel plans if re-entering the U.S. For more information or assistance please contact the Program Coordinator.

The State Department alerts U.S. citizens to the potential for terrorist attacks in Europe and elsewhere. Interested parties may read more about travel alerts, warnings, registering their trip abroad, receiving email warning notifications, securing a passport and much more at the U.S. State Department.
If, prior to the commencement of the program or during the course of the program, a U.S. State Department Travel Warning or Alert affecting program dates or destinations is issued, all registrants will be promptly notified by email and may withdraw from the program without penalty and all monies will be refunded within 20 days of withdrawal.

UMKC requires all program participants to provide proof of insurance from GeoBlue Travel Insurance for emergency medical evacuation and expatriation of remains. A group policy is available for all student registrants and must be completed through the online registration to remain eligible for the program.
