Visiting Assistant Clinical Professor
Malika Simmons received a bachelor of arts in international relations from Brown University and her J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law, where she served as the Case Note Editor for the Race and Ethnic Ancestry Law Journal (later renamed the Journal of Civil Rights and Social Justice).
Prior to joining the law school, she practiced at Husch Blackwell in the corporate department in the areas of securities law, mergers and acquisitions and privacy law. She also served as the director of government relations for a university and has experience with a variety of federal and state legislative matters. She works closely with the Bloch School’s Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the UMKC Solo and Small Firm Incubator.
Professor Simmons co-teaches Securities Regulation, and provides assistance to the Entrepreneurial Legal Services Clinic. She is admitted to practice in Missouri.
