Summer cultural and legal exchange program
This two-week cultural program offered July 16-27, 2012, will provide an overview of U.S. culture and foundational legal concepts. Topics range from U.S. constitutional law and common law understanding to litigation and the jury, business law and contracts. The program will introduce students to practical legal skills including legal writing, case briefing, analysis and legal argument.
The program includes visits to court, a law firm and an ADR practice to see the U.S. legal system at work and to personally interact with American lawyers and judges. Participants will also experience American culture at a Major League baseball game, an authentic barbecue dinner, a renowned art museum and other excursions.
Kansas City, a Frommers Travel Guide Top 10 destination for 2012, is an ideal Midwestern city for international students to experience American culture. Kansas City combines an urban environment with small-town American hospitality.
