Bar examinations

Graduation from law school does not automatically confer a license to practice law. In order to become licensed to practice law in most jurisdictions, graduates must sit for and pass a comprehensive, two- or three-day battery of tests known as a bar examination in addition to undergoing a detailed character and fitness screening. Students should obtain qualifications for admission to the bar from the state where they intend to practice.
