Phyllis A. Norman (’03)

Phyllis A. Norman (’03) received the President’s Award from the 2017 Missouri Bar Foundation and Public Service Awards.

Brandon K. Gutshall (’09)

Brandon K. Gutshall (’09) was named as Partner at Shook, Hardy and Bacon.  Brandon represents companies involved in product liability, premises liability, negligence, fraud, breach of contract and warranty action across the country. He graduated first in his class and served as the editor-in-chief of the UMKC Law Review and as a staff member of Urban Lawyer.

Ashley Atwell-Soler (’08)

Ashley Atwell-Soler (’08)  has joined the law firm of Holman Schiavone LLC as Of Counsel. Ashley represents Plaintiffs in Employment Discrimination and Personal Injury cases. As a fluent Spanish speaker, Ashley looks forward to continuing to represent clients all of backgrounds.

Nick Crews (’07)

Nick Crews announced the opening of  Fulkerson Crews, which represents the interests of businesses and insurance companies in Workers’ Compensation matters, employment disputes, and general liability claims. Crews has practiced primarily in the area of insurance defense, including both civil litigation and workers’ compensation. 

Kevin Tuttle (‘06)

Kevin Tuttle (‘06) has been named a partner at Spencer Fane. Kevin provides intellectual property (IP) counsel to a variety of clients in regard to the development, acquisition, enforcement and defense of IP rights. He works both nationally and internationally in IP transaction and ligation matter related to patents, trademarks and copyrights. He has been recognized for the past three consecutive years as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers.

 

Stacey Wullschleger (’07)

Stacey Wullschleger (’07) was awarded the Rising Star Award by the Women’s Justice Awards. This is awarded to female lawyers 40 years old and younger or within the first 10 years of practice who have already made a difference in the justice system or the profession and who appear on a path toward even greater accomplishment.

Alan P. Woolever (’08)

Alan P. Woolever (’08) was promoted to Director at Gilmore & Bell. Alan graduated cum laude and received his J.D. and LL.M at UMKC Law. While in law school, he was an Articles Editor for The Urban Lawyer Law Review and was the Arthur Mag Graduate Fellow in Tax Law.

Andrea Bough (’00)

Andrea Bough (’00) was awarded The Business Practitioner Award by the Women’s Justice Awards, which is given to female attorneys who fulfill the ideals of leadership, professionalism, and a passion for improving the quality of the justice system or contributing to the betterment of the legal profession.

Bough is a member of the Lewis Rice’s Real Estate Department. She has extensive experience in economic development; land use, planning, and zoning; and subdivision regulations. She previously served as special zoning council for the City of Fairway, KS Board of Zoning Appeals and Planning Commission, legal counsel for the Board of Zoning Appeals and the Planning Commission for the City of Mission Hills, KS, and legal counsel for the Planning Commission for the City of Roeland Park, KS.

Ryan W. Horsman (‘07)

Ryan W. Horsman (‘07) was appointed by Gov. Jay Nixon as the new Prosecuting Attorney for Mercer County. Horsman was an attorney in private practice with the Chillicothe law firm of Chapman and Cowherd P.C. He is a former Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, where he served until July 2016. Horsman also served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Public Safety Division of the Missouri Attorney General’s Office and was an associate with a law firm in St. Joseph.
