Awards
Each year, the UMKC Law Foundation and Alumni Association recognize exceptional alumni and friends of the School of Law with joint awards acknowledging philanthropy, leadership, service to the School of Law and the legal community, and lifetime achievement. Materials are accepted year-round, and nominations made prior to September 15 will be considered for that year’s awards process.
Decade award
Awarded to the alumnus who has made an outstanding contribution to the profession within their first 10 years of practice.
The Pat Kelly Service award
Awarded to the alumnus who has provided exemplary service to the Foundation and/or Alumni Association.
Lifetime Achievement award
Awarded to the alumnus who has achieved outstanding professional success in the legal field throughout a long career.
Pro Bono/Public Service award
Awarded to the alumnus who has made an outstanding contribution to the public welfare through the legal profession.
Philanthropy award
Awarded to the individual or family who has enabled the Law Foundation to change the lives of School of Law students through their generosity, either in a single instance or over a lifetime. The award is selected by staff and the presidents of the Law Foundation and Alumni Association.
President’s award
Recipient selected by the Presidents of the Law Foundation and Alumni Association for special recognition.
