History
Judge Edward Scarritt was born in Kansas City and became the president of his family’s real estate company that developed downtown Kansas City. Already a Circuit Judge of Jackson County when the school formed, he was elected as one of the first vice presidents of the law school. He was a partner in the law firm Scarritt, Jones, Seddon and North. He was a Kansas City banker and served as president of the Kansas City Bar Association from 1902-03. At the law school, he was often listed as a special lecturer who taught bills, notes, commercial paper and real property.
