Degree programs
The UMKC School of Law offers several educational programs. The Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is the first professional degree and is the degree generally required to become a member of the bar. The LL.M., or Master of Laws, is an advanced degree in law for those who have already obtained a J.D. degree or its equivalent. UMKC offers three LL.M. degrees: a General LL.M., LL.M. in Urban and an LL.M. in Tax. In addition, the School of Law offers several combined-degree programs. These include the J.D./MBA, J.D./MPA and J.D./LL.M. (Tax).
