Clinics
Law school clinics provide outstanding capstone learning opportunities for students while serving the community. In clinics, students represent actual clients under the supervision of clinical faculty. They have the opportunity to see how the law, theory and skills they have been learning operate together to allow them to engage in effective problem solving and advocacy for their clients.
UMKC School of Law offers several clinical opportunities, including:
- Child and Family Services Clinic
- Guardian ad Litem Clinic
- Entrepreneurial Legal Services Clinic
- Kansas City Tax Clinic
- The Midwestern Innocence Project
In addition, the School offers numerous externships at federal, state and local agencies such as prosecutor’s offices, public defenders offices, judicial chambers and government offices.
